Company Profiles:
- Luke Leslie
Luke has been in the film industry for over six years and has worked in just about every aspect of the production process, from production assistant to boom operator to associate producer. He has worked in feature films, short films, and television. He started his career in Austin and has since returned after spending three years working on films in Los Angeles.
Luke grew up in a small town in Texas and it was there that he gained an affinity for films. His escape from the small town atmosphere was grabbing a hand-held camera and filming with his friends around town. After high school Luke moved to Austin to pursue his dream of making films. The pursuit has taken him to many places and put him in contact with many interesting people.
"When I was eight I saw the film Stand By Me and at the moment the credits were rolling I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up...a filmmaker. Of all the knowledge I have picked up along the way the one thing in the film industry that remains a constant is that great stories and great characters can make a great film. My passion is to make great films."
- John Leslie
A native of Rockwall, Texas, John spent ten years away before returning to the Lone Star State in 2004. His film experience includes a partnership in Silver Hammer Pictures LLC, and independent, Los Angeles-based film company which he helped found. In 2002 John co-wrote and co-produced Booking Tacoma, a feature length film currently seeking distribution. In addition to on-set experience, John spent two years in a top post-production house in Hollywood. He is currently seeking his M.F.A. in creative writing and works in developing projects for Spider Bark.
"Being able to work in film in Texas was something I didn't think was possible ten years ago. Thanks to the growing Austin film community, I can work in my dream job and be near friends and family."
